If the two selections are made with repeating (i.e. the same letter can be drawn twice), then the probability of choosing 2 vowels is:

However if there can be no repeated letters, then the odds are:

#6/26*5/25=30/650=3/65#

The calculation comes from the fact that if one lettere is selected, then the number of all possible letters (denominator), and the number of vowels possible to be drawn (numerator) decreases by one.
