We know that #sin(A + B) = sinAcosB + sinBcosA#, therefore:

#sin(20 + 40) = sqrt(3/2)#

#sin(60^@) = sqrt(3)/2#

We know from our special triangles that #sin(60^@) = sqrt(3)/2#, thus the statement is true.
