The formula is #s = thetar#, where #r# is the radius and #theta# is the centre angle in radians.

Thus, if you have a circle of radius #2# and centre angle #pi/2#, your arc length will measure

#s = 2(pi/2) = pi#

This makes sense because #pi/2# is a quarter of the circle and the circumference of a circle of radius #2# is #2(2)pi = 4pi#. A quarter of this would be #pi#, or the answer we got with the above formula.
