Explanation:

The 1st step of cellular respiration is glycolysis that occurs in cytoplasm. It doesn't require oxygen (anaerobic) . It convert a glucose molecule into 2 molecules of 3 carbon pyruvic acid or pyravate through series of reaction
The glycolysis process use 2 ATP nd involve formation of 4 ATP so we can say net gain is 4 ATP .
