#=>1/sqrt2Sin2theta+1/sqrt2cos2theta=p/sqrt2#

#=>cos(pi/4)Sin2theta+sin(pi/4)cos2theta=p/sqrt2#

#=>Sin(2theta+pi/4)=p/sqrt2#

As #-1< =Sin(2theta+pi/4)<=1#
So
#-1 <= p/sqrt2 <=1#

#=>-sqrt2 <= p <=sqrt2#
