Major cause of cardiac disease is poor blood supply of cardiac muscles.

Explanation:

Heart blood supply is with coronary artery and its branches. Any obstruction in coronary and its branches leads to reduced blood supply to the area. Heart muscles require sufficient blood and oxygen.
Any reduction in blood supply leads to weakening of the muscles. This makes death of the cardiac muscles. When cardiac muscles die muscles degenerate.
The usual cause of obstruction of blood vessel is cholesterol clot. Unusual formation of blood clot in blood cardiac blood vessel is also a cause of cardiac disease.
