A sample of helium at 27 centigrade occupies a volume of 120L and pressure of 700atm.calculate the new volume of temperature at 18 centigrade if the pressure was increased by 38atm? Thanks

Foran ideal gas, #(PV)/T# = constant

So,we can write,

#(P_1 V_1)/(T_1) = (P_2 V_2)/(T_2)#

let, #P_1=700 atm ,V_1=120 L,T_1=27+273=300K,P_2=38+700=738atm,T_2=18+273=291K,v_2=?#

So, #V_2= (700*120)/300 (291/738)=110.406 L#
