A sphere with radius of 2 m is entirely immersed in water. (1) what is the buoyant force on the sphere by water? (2) what is the buoyant force by the air?(Given water and air densities to be is 1000 kg/m3 and 1.3 kg/m3, respectively)

For complete immersion both water and air will apply the buoyancy force on the whole volume of the sphere.

So,buoyancy force by water = #V rho g= 4/3 pi r^3 rho g= 4/3 pi (2)^3 × 1000 × 9.8=328401.151 N#

And,bouyancy force by air will be # 4/3 pi r^3 d g =4/3 pi (2)^3 ×1.3×9.8= 426.920 N#
