Explanation:
The Soviet Union took over most of Eastern Europe. Totalitarian Communistic governments were imposed on the people of these countries. People in these countries were not allowed to leave the nations, or cross out of shadow of Soviet control. People and information from the West were not allowed in.
The Iron described the force at which this Curtain was imposed dividing Europe in half. On one side was the democratic West on the other side was the Communistic East. The Berlin Wall was emblematic of the Iron Curtain. People trying to escape to West Berlin from Communistic East Berlin were shot.
