# Am I allowed to multiply the subscripts outside the parenthesis after doing this specific question's criss cross?

## I did the criss cross method between $C {a}^{+ 2} \mathmr{and} {\left[N {O}_{3}\right]}^{-} 1$ and I got $C a {\left[N {O}_{3}\right]}_{2}$. Can I make this $C a \left[{N}_{2} {O}_{6}\right]$?

In any of its applications like getting molar mass etc we have to open the parenthesis, but the correct notation is "Ca"("NO"_3)_2 because it means that two nitrates are attached to calcium cation, whereas ${\text{CaN"_2"O}}_{6}$ is not the same structure.
So "Ca"("NO"_3)_2 is correct.
