Enzyme is a substance which is produced in living things and acts like a catalyst in living organisms to perform different functions.

Explanation:

The enzymes are a type of protein and they are also made up of long chains of amino acids which why they are able to speed the reactions in our body.

Every enzyme performs only a specific function so all enzymes are not made up of proteins. The enzyme usually differ in their shapes of the proteins.

The enzymes only work at the medium where they can be active for example salivary amylase can only work in mouth because that place is the target site for the enzyme.
