Are all gallstones in the gallbladder, or can they travel to other sites in the body? Where in the body is the gallbladder located?

Let us first answer the second question.

Location of gallbladder:

Gallbladder is a small pear-shaped sack situated below the live in the upper right portion of our body.

Now the first part.

Gallstones:

Most common location of gallstones is definitely gallbladder, but gallstones often lodge inside different areas of biliary ducts and may also block flow of bile (this causes obstructive jaundice).

There are rare but reports of gallstones entering pancreatic duct and causing pancreatitis.

Travelling of gallstones to other parts of body depends on its size. If these are small in size they can pass out the body through small intestine. Otherwise, they need surgical treatments for their removal.
