Because sin (-t)= -sin t, can it be said that the sine of a negative angle is a negative number?

Sometimes, but not always.

Explanation:

This is true in some cases, for instance:

#sin(-pi/6)=-sin(pi/6)=-1/2#

#sin(-pi/2)=-sin(pi/2)=-1#

However, if the input angle between #-pi# and #-2pi#, then the resulting sine is actually positive:

#sin(-(3pi)/2)=-sin((3pi)/2)=-(-1)=1#

#sin(-(11pi)/6)=-sin((11pi)/6)=-(-1/2)=1/2#

I hope this helps!
