Can someone explain related rates problems to me?

I understand what you have to do, but I don't know HOW you have to do it. If that makes sense.

Find an equation relating the variables.
Differentiate both sides of the equation with respect to #t#.
Substitute the known quantities and solve for the desired unknown quantity.
