Dana colored 1/6 of her picture, and Brendan colored 1/4 of his picture. Who colored more?

Brenden colored more.

Explanation:

$\frac{1}{6} , \frac{1}{4}$

$= {\cancel{4}}^{1} / {\cancel{24}}^{6} , {\cancel{6}}^{1} / {\cancel{24}}^{4}$

$\therefore \frac{1}{4} > \frac{1}{6}$

Unless we know the sizes of the pictures we cannot say who did the most colouring

Explanation:

$\frac{1}{4} > \frac{1}{6}$ so if the pictures are the same size Brendan coloured more than Dana.
But if Dana's picture was say 200$c {m}^{2}$ then Dana coloured $\frac{1}{6} o f 200$ which is 33.4$c {m}^{2}$
And if Brendan's picture is 100$c {m}^{2}$ then he coloured $\frac{1}{4} o f 100$ which is 25$c {m}^{2}$
