Many if not most of the world's food crops are dependent on pollinators for their reproduction and food production.

Explanation:

Pretty much all fruit crops need to have their flowers pollinated in order to produce fruit. Without bees and other pollinators the there would no apples, oranges, strawberries, or other fruits.

Some foods like maize are wind pollinated. but many foods are dependent on insect pollination. Without the insect pollinators there would be less food, and fewer types of nutritional foods.

The loss of pollinators were create a dangerous situation as there would likely be mass starvation as food sources that societies depend on would disappear along with the pollinators.
