Find the angular velocity of the rod in the picture given below?

Let the rod is rotating with uniform angular velocity #omega# and the center of rotation of the 100cm rod is #r# cm away from the end rotating with tangential velocity #20#m/s.

Hence we can write
#omegaxxr=20....(1)#

#omegaxx(100-r)=30.....(2)#
So
#r/(100-r)=20/30#

#=>3r=200-2r#

#=>r=40# cm

Inserting the value of #r# in(1) we get

#omega=20/40=0.5#rad/s

Alternatively by adding (1) and (2) we get

# 100omega =50#
#=>omega=0.5#rad/s
