So,they are similar triangles.

from the properties of similar triangle,we can say,

#(AE)/(ED) =(AB)/(AC) = (EB)/(DC)#

So, #(AB)/(AB+BC) = (EB)/(DC)#

Given, #BC=0.5 m,EB=3.2 m,DC=8 m#,

so solving we get, #AB=0.34 m#
