Sedimentary

Explanation:

Fossils are normally only found in sedimentary rock. Since Igneous rock is formed by cooling of liquid magma, it is obvious why fossils cannot be found in Igneous rock. Metamorphic rock is formed without actual melting of rock, but the high heat and very high pressures necessary to form Metamorphic rock would destroy any material fossilizing. If a fossil was already formed and then the rock it was in underwent metamorphosis, it is possible for that fossil to survive the process...however...keep in mind the fossil was formed in sedimentary first.
