Let's just use a real example...

Suppose we mix equal mols of #"HCl"# and #"NH"_3#, the former being a strong acid and the latter being a weak base.

#"HCl"(aq) + "NH"_3(aq) -> "NH"_4"Cl"(aq)#

The result is that the strong acid #"HCl"# (#K_a ~~ 10^7#) dominates the weak base #"NH"_3# (#K_b = 1.8 xx 10^(-5)#).

The strong acid gives #"H"^(+)# more so than the weak base gives #"OH"^(-)#. Thus, the #"NH"_4"Cl"# salt is weakly acidic.

So if we are at #25^@ "C"#, what pH range is this?
