Hello, Can someone please explain why AlCl3 a solid? I thought Cl is soluble except when paired with Ag, Pb, and Hg. I would appreciate any help. Thank you! Al(s) + 3Cl(g) -> AlCl3(s)

It is soluble ONLY in water SOLUTION! The dry reaction yields the dry product.

Explanation:
