The galaxy cluster contain 100 to 1000 galaxies, dark matter & X-ray emitting gas. Scientist studied that in galaxy cluster large amounts of intergalactic gas is present. This gas is very hot #10^7#K to #10^8#K and hence they emit X-ray.

The galaxy cluster is the largest known gravitationally bound structure. The diameter of galaxy clusters is 3 to 10 Mpc (megaparsec).
