How are the planets' sizes related to the number of natural satellites (moons) in orbit around them?

1 Answer

There is no such correlation between size of planet and the number of natural satellites.

Explanation:

Smaller than Earth, Mars has two moons. Earth has just one. Earth-size Venus has none. Smaller Saturn and Jupiter have nearly the same (60 +) number of moons. Four times as large as the Earth, Uranus has 27 moons.

So, there appears to be no correlation relating the size of a planet to
the number of moons of the planet.
