Unprotected sexual activity is only one mode of HIV transmission. HIV can also be transmitted via other body fluids like blood and breast milk.

Explanation:

The normal mode of HIV transmission is through an exchange of body fluids such as blood, semen, vaginal fluids, rectal fluids, and breast milk.

HIV can be transmitted through blood transfusion of unscreened blood, through sharing of infected needles (common among injectable drug users), through breastfeeding, and rarely through exchange of blood from the wound of an infected person to an open cut of a non-infected person.
