Interchangeable parts are parts that are simply identical. Thus, making a large amount of these parts, otherwise known as mass production, would lead to a quicker and cheaper process of producing goods.

Explanation:

When the Industrial Revolution was sweeping the nation during the 1800s, machines and factories dominated industries. The concept of manufacturing changed as a whole.

During the times of innovation and industrialization, people started inventing things and new businesses erupted. One of these ideas was known as interchangeable parts.

Interchangeable parts were introduces as the idea of having similar parts to a bigger piece. This means that things could be made at a larger magnitude, not to mention the relatively low cost.

So, people took the idea of interchangeable parts. It made manufacturing easier and from and economic standpoint, a big benefit.
