# How do you change y= -x - 2 to standard form?

Apr 1, 2015

The answer is : $x + y + 2 = 0$

Standard form is of the form:
$a x + b y + c = 0$
So,
$y = - x - 2$ becomes
$x + y + 2 = 0$

Note that :
In this particular case $a = 1$ , $b = 1$ , $c = 2$ !
