# How do you factor 4x^2 - 100?

May 16, 2015

Use the fact that:
${a}^{2} - {b}^{2} = \left(a + b\right) \left(a - b\right)$
So:
$4 {x}^{2} - 100 = \left(2 x + 10\right) \left(2 x - 10\right)$
