# How do you find the domain of f(x)= 1/ (x+1)?

The domain is $\mathbb{R}$ except -1. $\mathbb{R} - \left\{- 1\right\}$ in set notation
Why?. Because $f \left(- 1\right) = \frac{1}{0}$ doesn't exists.
Remember: the domain of a function is a set of values of $x$ for which $f \left(x\right)$ exists
