You find the midpoints (mean) of both the $x$ and $y$ co-ordinates.
Let's call the midpoint $P \left({x}_{P} , {y}_{P}\right)$

${x}_{P} = - 8$, as both ${x}_{V} \mathmr{and} {x}_{W}$ are $- 8$

${y}_{P} = \frac{{y}_{V} + {y}_{W}}{2} = \frac{1.2 + 7.4}{2} = 4.3$

So the midpoint is $P \left(- 8 , 4.3\right)$
