# How do you find the slope of a line?

Nov 2, 2014

Choose any two distinct points $\left({x}_{1} , {y}_{1}\right)$ and $\left({x}_{2} , {y}_{2}\right)$ on the line then use the slope formula below to find the slope $m$.

$m = \frac{{y}_{2} - {y}_{1}}{{x}_{2} - {x}_{1}}$.

I hope that this was helpful.
