In general the slope of a line between two points is is given by
#"difference in y-coordinates"/"difference between corresponding x-coordinates"#

For two points #(color(red)(1),color(blue)(2))# and #(color(red)(2),color(blue)(5))#
this is
#m= (Delta y)/(Delta x) = (color(blue)(5-2))/(color(red)(2-1)) = 3#
