## Given $\tan \theta = 1.036$ Find $\sec \theta$ and $\cos \theta$

Use arctan (also written tan^-1) to find out what the angle is. Then use that angle as the argument for $\sec \theta \mathmr{and} \cos \theta$.

To demonstrate:
${\tan}^{-} 1 \left(1.036\right) = {46.01}^{\circ}$

$\sec \left({46.01}^{\circ}\right) = 1.44$

$\cos \left({46.01}^{\circ}\right) = 0.694$
