Find two points. Plot them on a graph sheet. Join them with the help of a straight line.

Explanation:

It is a linear function. You will get a straight line.

given -
y = 5x +1

At x = 0; y = 5(0) + 1 = 1

(0, 1) is one point. It is Y intercept.

At Y = 0 ; 5x + 1 = 0 ; x = #-1/5#

(#-1/5#, 0) is another point on the line.

Since it is a fraction , use your imagination to get two integers as co-ordinates.

At y = 6 ; 5x +1 = 6; 5x = 6 - 1 = 5 ; x = #(5/5)# = 1

(1, 6 ) is another point on the line.

Plot points (0, 1) and ( 1, 6 ).

Join these two points. You will get your graph.
