Because this question is posted in the "electrochemistry" I'll offer one possibility related to that.

"Oxidation-reduction" requires the transfer of electrons from one atom to another. We can cause that transfer to occur against the "normal" energetic direction by the application of an electrical current and voltage to the reaction medium.

All of "electrochemistry" is about using chemical combinations to create electrical flows (batteries) or using electrical flows to affect chemical combinations (metal plating is a major example). All of these are applications of oxidation-reduction reactions.
