In order to simplify the expression ${\left(- 2 x {y}^{4} {z}^{2}\right)}^{5}$ we need to understand that the exponent 5 gets distributed to each term in the parenthesis.

$- {2}^{5} {x}^{5} {y}^{4 \left(5\right)} {z}^{2 \left(5\right)}$

$- {2}^{5}$ (-2)(-2)(-2)(-2)(-2) = -32

${x}^{5}$ = ${x}^{5}$

${y}^{4 \left(5\right)}$ = ${y}^{20}$

${z}^{2 \left(5\right)}$ = ${z}^{10}$

$- 32 {x}^{5} {y}^{20} {z}^{10}$
