Apply the coefficient of the terms in parentheses to each term then simplify the expression

$6 \left(2 r - 5\right) + 2 r$

$= 6 \left(2 r\right) - 6 \left(5\right) + 2 r$

$= 12 r - 30 + 2 r$

$= 14 r - 30$
