firstly eliminate the fractions from the equation by multiplying through by x

# x xx 1/x = x xx 2/x - x xx3 #

→ 1 = 2 - 3x

now collect like terms : 1 - 2 = - 3x

→ - 1 = - 3x

now divide both sides by - 3
→ #( -1)/-3 =( - 3)/ - 3#x
