$\sqrt{x - 2} = \frac{7}{5}$

Square both sides:

$x - 2 = \frac{49}{25} \to x = \frac{49}{25} + 2 = \frac{99}{25}$

Divide both sides by $5$

$\sqrt{x - 2} = \frac{7}{5}$

Square both sides

$x - 2 = {\left(\frac{7}{5}\right)}^{2} = \frac{49}{25}$

Add $2$ to both sides

$x = 2 + \frac{49}{25} = 3 \frac{24}{25}$

$x = 3.96$
