First of all, distribute -5 through the parenthesis

=> -71 = -10r-15-6 => -71 = -10r-21

Then, change -21 side and don't forget to change its sign !

=> -71+21 = -10r => -50 = -10r

Then, you divide both side by -10

(-50)/(-10) = (-10r)/(-10)

So 5 = r (or r = 5)
