Think about it this way if you lose something in PE you are a SAD(Man)

PE = parenthesis and exponents
SA = Subtract and Addition working backwards is to do the opposite.
DM = Divide and Multiple. working backward is to do the opposite.

Start by multiplying across the parenthesis to remove the parenthesis.

# 8 -3 ( 5-x) = 29 = 8 -15 + 3x = 29# Combine like terms

# 8 - 15 +3x = 29 = -7 +3x = 29# Add 7 to both sides.

# -7 +7 + 3x = 29 + 7 # This gives

# 3x = 36# divide both sides by 3

# 3x/3 = 36/3 # The answer is

# x = 12#
