To solve such equation you have to move the unknown to one side leaving the number on the other side:

#8|x|+19=11#

#8|x|=11-19#

#8|x|=-8#

Now we can divide both sides by #8#

#|x|=-1#

But this equation has no solutions because the absolute value of a real number is never lower than zero, so it cannot be #-1#.
