# How do you solve  x^2 - 4x + 4 = 100 by completing the square?

Since ${x}^{2} - 4 x + 4$ is already a square there isn't really any "completing" to be done.
${x}^{2} - 4 x + 4 = 100$
${\left(x - 2\right)}^{2} = 100$
$x - 2 = \pm 10$
$x = 12$ or $x = - 8$
