How do you solve  x^2+8x-2=0 using the quadratic formula?

$- 4 \pm 3 \sqrt{2}$
$D = {d}^{2} = {b}^{2} - 4 a c = 64 + 8 = 72$ --> $d = \pm 6 \sqrt{2}$
$x = - \frac{b}{2 a} \pm \frac{d}{2 a} = - \frac{8}{2} \pm \frac{6 \sqrt{2}}{2} = - 4 \pm 3 \sqrt{2}$
