# How do you solve x^2=-9x-8?

First use null factor law to put the $- {x}^{2}$ on the other side hence making 0= $- {x}^{2}$ -9x-8. Simplify by dividing by-1 = ${x}^{2}$ +9x+8=0. Then use cross method to factorise which becomes (x+8)(x+1)=0 the x being -8 or -1 as the answer
