# How do you solve (x - 4) ( 3x + 2) = 0?

Mar 5, 2017

Solution is $x = 0$ or $x = - \frac{2}{3}$

#### Explanation:

From $\left(x - 4\right) \left(3 x + 2\right) = 0$

it is apparent that as product of $\left(x - 4\right)$ and 3x+2) is $0$, we have

either $x - 4 = 0$ i.e. $x = 4$

or $3 x + 2 = 0$ i.e. $3 x = - 2$ or $x = - \frac{2}{3}$

Hence solution is $x = 0$ or $x = - \frac{2}{3}$
