1) Remove the brackets, remembering that a negative sign if front of a bracket changes all the signs inside .

2) Simplify by the usual rules of algebra.

#(x+7)-(x+5)#

#=x+7-x-5#

#=cancel(x)+7-cancel(x)-5#

#=7-5=2#
