"This is a quote from a source" (Author Page#).

Explanation:

An In-Text-Citation gives credit to a source immediately after using the author's words or information.

The correct way to use them is as follows:

  • If you are citing a book, put the author's last name and the page number in parentheses with the period coming after the closing parenthesis.

  • If you are citing a poem, put the author's last name and the line numbers in parentheses with the period coming after the closing parenthesis.

  • Always put the citation after any quotations.
