I don’t think it does. A M.A.S.E.R is just a microwave laser.
Explanation:
They emit coherent radiation in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
(Incidentally, the word M.A.S.E.R is just an acronym for Microwave Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation)
