Our sun is a medium sized star.

Explanation:

In terms of circumference/radius there is a star that is 1700 times larger. The smallest known star is about 12% the size of ours. That star, however, is a white dwarf which one day is how our star will be described.

But in terms of size, astronomers put more stock in the mass of a star. That smallest sized star I mentioned has a mass about 50% of our sun.
