Natural gas (CH4 if it is pure) is a greenhouse gas

Explanation:

Greenhouse gases cause temperature increase in the atmosphere. Natural gas (if it is not burnt) can cause global climate change. Compared to carbondioxide it is 55 times stronger in terms of global climate change potential.

Natural gas in deposited subsurface in permafrost areas. If ice cover melts down, due to global climate change, natural gas can escape into the atmosphere and we should expect a catastrophe.

At landfills, natural gas (methane) occurs. We have to burn it to minimize global climate change. Similar to coal or petroleum, natural gas is not limitless. However, we need to use it wisely.
